YEAR 5 & 6
At this age, our pupils are fully immersed in all that Monkton Prep has to offer, including regular sports training and fixtures for all levels and a large-scale performing arts production, which in recent years has been Moana and Matilda. In addition, pupils have Science lessons, learn Spanish in Year 6 (alongside French) and have Art, Drama, Music and DT lessons, all taught by specialists. The curriculum is rich and varied and allows pupils to begin to explore their areas of passion. From Year 5 our pupils take part in Saturday School, which often involves taking learning outside of the classroom, including Wild Monkton activities.

Lunch, with a range of hot food and a salad bar is available each day, and is billed as a termly compulsory fee of £340. We have separated the lunch fee to ensure that you do not have to pay VAT on this element of our provision.

Both Years 5 and 6 have the opportunity to go on residential trips, along with expedition days throughout the year, at an additional cost.
The fee for day pupils includes clubs and one midweek boarding night per term so that pupils have the opportunity to develop independence and confidence from being away from home in a safe and supportive environment, as well as have fun with their friends.
Included within the boarding fee is a regular programme of weekend trips which have included Legoland, Roller Disco, Climbing and Go Karting.
