YEAR 12 & 13
Sixth Form pupils at Monkton make the most of all that is on offer as they prepare to step out into life beyond the valley. A vigorous academic programme is accompanied by extensive co-curricular activities, opportunities to partake in our Leadership programme, a service programme at local primary schools, along with receiving regular Careers and Futures guidance.
Day pupils are also encouraged to truly make the most of the boarding experience at Monkton, with the flexibility to stay until bedtime on any day. Many of our students make the most of the evening help from teachers, both in the boarding houses and in the Music and Art departments, during prep.

For day pupils that would like to experience boarding, we offer up to 10 nights free of charge per year, subject to availability. This allows pupils to make the most of being part of the boarding community and to experience the opportunities and increased independence that this brings. The fee rate for 3 night boarding is £13,695 for the term.
Lunch, with a range of hot and cold meal options, is available each day and is billed as a termly compulsory fee of £340. This has been separated to reduce the VAT cost.
All pupils, whether day or boarding, can attend breakfast and supper, as well as snacks in the boarding houses and evening ‘In-House’ socials, which is included within the above fee.
You can find out more about our catering provision here.

We encourage as many pupils as possible to be part of a sports team, as we recognise the importance of physical activity for wellbeing and the social benefits of being part of a team. Our fees include transport to and from fixtures and a huge variety of clubs and activities throughout the week: for example, pupils can choose to gain catering qualifications and skills in our weekly culinary school. They also include pupil attendance at school productions and concerts such as House Music and Longmead, subsidised Outdoor Education activities including paddleboarding at our Dundas boathouse, along with a number of adventurous, academic, and cultural trips.

Our evenings and weekends are packed with activities and events for boarding and day pupils alike. We include activities on Saturday evenings, for example Band Night, Pearce Centre Socials, Quiz Night and Ultimate Frisbee, to mention just a few. Each House also enjoys a biennial formal dinners where pupils and staff come together with parents to celebrate all that they have gained from being part of their House. There are also a wide variety of optional additional trips on a Sunday for which there is an additional charge.
