Monkton Students Excel in National Senior Mathematical Challenge

Monkton students have achieved outstanding results in this year’s UK Mathematics Trust Senior Mathematical Challenge, a prestigious national competition designed to test problem-solving and mathematical reasoning skills among students aged 16–18.
Ten Monkton pupils were awarded Gold Certificates, placing them among the top performers nationally. Impressively, all of our Gold award winners qualified for the next round, the Senior Kangaroo, which takes place on 19th November.
Special congratulations go to Ben K in Year 12, who not only achieved a Gold Certificate but also scored highly enough to qualify for the British Mathematical Olympiad Round 1 (BMO1). A remarkable achievement reached by only the top few hundred students nationwide. Lisa W in Year 10 also deserves particular mention, gaining a Gold Certificate and the second-highest scorer in the school, an exceptional accomplishment for her age group. Lisa is also one of a number of our students who is sitting their Maths GCSE exam early.
Our Gold award winners are:
Ben K, Lisa W, Toby J, Eddy C, Wilson Y, Hanqi J, James S, Justen L, Fed S and Arad M.
Chris Kindon, Head of Maths, said: "We are incredibly proud of all students who took part in the challenge, and congratulate them on their hard work, ambition, and problem-solving skills."
