Monkton is seeking to appoint a full time-time Head of Department and Teacher of Biology. We would be looking for the successful candidate to start from 23rd February 2026, or as soon after that as possible, with a handover period with the existing HoD for the remainder of the academic year. In this role you would teach throughout the Senior School (Years 9 to 13).
As a dynamic and ambitious Head of Department, you are seeking to develop in a school which grows fruitful people through innovation and a commitment to professional growth, and which prioritises relationships over systems. You will share our vision for fostering a love of lifelong learning, both for students and teachers. The successful candidate will be able to offer Biology to GCSE and A level; an ability to teach a second science would be an advantage but not essential.
The salary offered is in accordance with the Monkton Combe Teaching Staff Salary Scale and can be discussed at interview. This role is also entitled to a Head of Department allowance and lesson remission.
