Mrs Joanna Wright

Joanna Wright is Principal of Bridewell Royal Hospital and Head of King Edward’s, having joined the school in August 2019. Previously, Joanna was Deputy Head at St Peter’s, York (2012-2019), Deputy Principal Pastoral at Queenswood School (2008-2012), Housemistress at St Edward’s School, Oxford (2003-2008) and Assistant Director of Stahl Theatre at Oundle School (1996-2003). She has taught Drama, French, RE,
PSHE, Global Perspectives and English.
Joanna is married to the Reverend Graham Wright who is Chaplain at Gordon’s School. They have two daughters, Esme who is about to embark on her doctorate in child and adolescent psychotherapy and Clara who is beginning her Masters in Psychodynamic Human Development while working as a teaching assistant supporting children with special needs. As a family they attend King’s Church, Guildford. They share their home with Otto and Tallulah who live peacefully as cat and dog when it suits them.
