Stephen joined the Monkton Governing Board in early 2016 and took on the role of Chair of Governors from April 2026.
Until December 2015, he was the International CEO at Mission Without Borders, a group of mission organisations seeking to reach people for Christ and assist in relieving severe poverty in some of the poorest countries in Central & Eastern Europe.
Prior to this position, having qualified as a UK Chartered Accountant, he was a partner with KPMG for more than 20 years providing audit and advisory services to clients in Central Europe. He is also an Audit Committee member on a retail bank operating in several countries in Europe.
He currently is also an Independent Non-Executive Director of Citadele Group, a retail bank group operating in several countries in Europe, where he chairs the Audit & Governance Committee and is a member of the Risk Committee.
He is married to Catherine and they have 2 adult children. He attends Aston & Cote Community Church, in Oxfordshire.
