Five candidates held hustings today in preparation for next week's Monkton election.  Representatives from Labour, Conservative, The Brexit Party, The Greens and Liberal Democrats faced questions from the Question-Time style audience in a bid to gain votes for the ballot on the 4th December.

Red Ben kicked off the proceedings with a pledge to reverse the last nine years of Conservative dominance and Bora countered for the Tories, with Issa taking the voice for Brexit, Nathan promising a brighter future for his grandchildren while Sophie engaged for the Lib Dems.  The candidates went on to take questions from the floor which included fiscal management of the economy, climate change and Brexit.  There's plenty of time to decide before putting that cross on the ballot paper, watch this space next week for the results - how close will it be to the real thing when the country goes to the polls on December 12th?
