PA to the Bursar & Assistant Bursar, Full time and Permanent

Monkton is seeking to appoint an highly motivated, organised and experienced PA to provide full administration and secretarial support to the Bursar and Assistant Bursar in managing and prioritising their time effectively. The successful candidate will have an excellent phone manner and strong written and oral communication skills to a wide and varied audience including pupils, staff, parent, governors and others. The successful candidate will be looking for a new challenging, varied and busy role and will bring a “can-do” attitude to the role.

Responsibilities

●    Develop and implement a people strategy for the School ensuring that delivery plans support current and future needs of the organisation, specifically developing a leading approach to organisational development, employee wellbeing, learning, resourcing, workforce design and planning, performance development, and talent and succession management.

●    Develop the capacity and capabilities of the HR function taking into account organisational challenges, direction and purpose, ensuring all services are delivered. Effective line management of all employees within the HR function.

●    Ensure HR services, systems and applications are value for money, easy to use, improve accessibility, facilitate accurate recording and reporting of the HR Key Performance Indicators and enable a culture of self-development and self-sufficiency.
Qualifications/experience required
•    Educated to degree level or equivalent
•    Currently leading a strategic HR Team, implementing and driving HR Strategy across a variety of  employee levels, working as a Business Partner at Senior Management/Director level
•    Experience in overseeing organisation recruitment, retention, development and succession planning
•    Understanding of education policy in relation to HR: pay, performance management, safeguarding etc.
•    Experience of working with trade unions
•    An excellent communicator, influential, credible, calm under pressure and able to deal effectively with a diverse range of issues
•    Able to demonstrate resilience and control in difficult situations
•    Ability to influence at all levels
•    Thorough working knowledge of UK employment legislation
•    The ability to converse at ease with parents/pupils and members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English
•    Be willing to embrace, support and develop the Christian ethos of our school
•    Awareness of the responsibilities of working in an environment with young people including a commitment to safeguarding and the welfare of children and young people
•    To demonstrate the highest standards of integrity as part of a commitment to the Monkton Vision, Mission and Values

What’s on offer?

A salary between £55,000 to £65,000 per annum, and a great opportunity to be exposed to the diverse functions within this role. The post holder will lead continuous improvement and the successful management of change, leading teams to ensure that policies, processes, systems and practice support the School to deliver its strategic priorities. This is a busy time for the school, and a great opportunity for exposure to a wide range of activities and experiences. All members of the Executive Leadership Team benefit from 65% fee remission across the schools and Health insurance.

Exam Invigilators – Casual Contracts
