Business Teacher – One Year Fixed Term - Monkton Senior School

Monkton is seeking to appoint a full time teacher of Business from September 2019 on a 1 year fixed term contract . The ability to teach Economics would be an advantage but not essential. The successful applicant would be responsible for applying to the University of Buckingham, and the training costs would be paid for by the School and deducted from the successful applicant’s salary. Where the successful candidate is an NQT, support through the induction year would be delivered by our highly experienced staff and overseen by the Independent Schools Teacher Induction Panel (ISTIP). The salary offered is in accordance with the Monkton Combe Teaching Staff Salary Scale and allowances.

French Assistant (GTA) – 12 month Fixed Term Contract

Monkton is seeking to appoint an energetic and dedicated French Assistant for the forthcoming academic year, starting in late August 2019 on a 12 month fixed term contract. Monkton Senior School is located in the beautiful Midford valley within walking distance of Bath. This is a residential post.

This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience of working with young people in a supportive Christian ethos school environment, and would especially suit those who are considering a future career in teaching or working with children. The position offers the opportunity to experience all aspects of boarding school life, and the daily routine of a busy school within the classroom and throughout the co-curricular activities which take place on site.

Graduate Teaching Assistants are seen as an important part of the Pastoral and Academic teams at Monkton.   They are expected to help with various activities during the school day, to be resident on site, and to help care for the

boarders after the academic day has finished and at the weekends. Specific specialisms and dependent on person, experience and qualifications and in line with the needs of the school.

To support the Languages department and prepare pupils for International GCSE and A level examinations in French.

The salary will be c. £11,500 per annum.  In addition to this you will receive free board and lodging to end of July 2020.  Meals will be provided whilst the kitchens are open for School staff. This is our standard Graduate Teaching Assistant package.  The salary will normally be reviewed annually in September.

Monkton is seeking to appoint for the start of the summer 2019 term or a soon as practical after a confident and motivated individual with a good eye for detail and with a flexible and organised approach to maintain an effective and accurate management information system and all the systems that feed from it and to support all dependent systems.

The post holder would work as part of an excellent team who are looking to use technology in creative and innovative ways to support all that happens at Monkton.  This post would become an integral part of that team helping to ensure a good and accurate flow of information around the school. They would also be a crucial part of the examinations team to help ensure the smooth running of our internal and external exams.

This is a part time position based on 30 hours per week on a term time plus basis and includes pro rata paid holiday entitlement for 41.7 weeks per annum paid over 12 months. Domestic Services Team Leaders x 2

Monkton is seeking to appoint two committed and dedicated Domestic Services Team Leader’s to provide the Domestic Services teams at the Senior and Prep school sites with clear leadership and support in the delivery of their day to day responsibilities and will take responsibility for the supervision and line management of the day to day work of the cleaning and caretaking staff across the relevant school sites.  The successful candidates will demonstrate excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing. They will also enjoy taking accountability and ownership of their work and will be willing to contribute to the delivery of tasks as required.

Team Leader 1 – Part time – 32.5 hours per week for 52 weeks per annum, working hours are 6.30am to 1pm Monday to Fridays and occasional Saturdays and will mainly be located at the Senior School site in Monkton Combe Village.

Team Leader 2/Caretaker – Full time – 40 hours per week for 52 weeks per annum, working hours are 5.30am to 2.15pm Monday to Friday and occasional Saturdays and will mainly be located at our Prep School site in Combe Down. Please note this position contains Caretaking tasks which will be discussed at interview.

These positions form part of the Domestic Services Management team and will move across all school sites in line with the needs of the school and at the direction of the Domestic Services Managers.

Monkton Combe School is situated in a beautiful area just south of Bath.
We are looking for new recruits to join our current team of experienced chefs to give our customers an outstanding experience and contribute to quality meals prepared using healthy, fresh, responsibly sourced food.
 
The School has a varied menu which includes breakfast, lunches and suppers as well as a variety of weddings, formal dinners and residential lets throughout the year.

Swim Teacher

Monkton Sports Club is looking to appoint a Swim Teacher to teach a range of aquatic skills to both individuals and groups using the ASA National Plan for Teaching Swimming (NPTS).
