Teacher of Design - Senior School

Monkton is seeking to appoint a full time teacher of Design from September 2019 or January 2020 who will also take on the role of Subject Coordinator. The successful applicant will share our vision for fostering a love of lifelong learning, both for students and teachers. Nursery/Kindergarten Leader

Do you want to work in an exceptionally motivated and friendly team where we are excited by research and always looking to develop our Early Years practice.
Monkton Pre-Prep is looking to appoint two Early Years professionals, one to lead our Nursery (2-3 years) and one to lead our Kindergarten (3-4 years). We are looking for practitioners with strong leadership and interpersonal skills, and with an ability to work flexibly alongside others in the EYFS.

Applicants should be a minimum of Level 3 qualified, although higher level qualifications would be desirable. Contracts could be either 52 weeks a year, to include leadership of our holiday programme for 3-4 year olds or 41 weeks a year fitting mostly within term time. Both posts provide exciting opportunities to shape the next phase of our pre-school provision at Monkton.

Graduate Teaching Assistants, Prep School – To start in September 2019

Monkton is seeking to appoint energetic and dedicated Graduate Teaching Assistants for the forthcoming academic year.

To be successful you will be flexible, enthusiastic and independent.  We welcome a diverse range of experience as we encourage you to share your passions with the pupils.  Coaching games is a key feature of the role so a strong sporting background in the main core sports is essential.    

Monkton Prep School is located in the beautiful Midford valley within walking distance of Bath. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience of working with young people in a school environment, and would especially suit those who are considering a career in teaching or working with children.  We offer the opportunity to experience all aspects of boarding school life, the daily routine of a busy school within the classroom, on the sports field and throughout the co-curricular activities which take place on site.

A successful candidate will become an important member of our pastoral and academic staff team, working with them to provide our pupils with the best educational experience. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in classroom lessons
  • Coaching during sports and games lessons
  • Pastoral duties in support of Teachers and House Parents
  • Involvement in co-curricular activities, school productions and trips
  • Supervisory responsibilities during school breaks and lunch times, and for after school care

This is a residential full time position for a 12 month fixed term contract.  You will be expected to work full school hours including Saturday morning school with additional boarding responsibilities during evenings and weekends during term time on a rota basis. You will receive half a day off per week and free weekend time on a rota basis, and a salary of £11,500 per annum with free school accommodation and board.

History and RE Teacher – Monkton Prep School

Catering Vacancies

Monkton Combe School is situated in a beautiful area just south of Bath.
We are looking for new recruits to join our current team of experienced chefs to give our customers an outstanding experience and contribute to quality meals prepared using healthy, fresh, responsibly sourced food.
 
The School has a varied menu which includes breakfast, lunches and suppers as well as a variety of weddings, formal dinners and residential lets throughout the year.   

We’re looking for people who are:

A minimum of 2 years’ experience within a similar role would be desirable as we provide around 9000 meals per week during term time across our two sites plus a wide range of hospitality events.

We work shift patterns that include evenings and weekends. Our permanent roles are Independent School term time plus a minimum 4 additional weeks to cover functions during the holidays. Casual and part-time weekend jobs are available for Front-of-House roles.
This is not "school catering" as anyone unfamiliar with our sector may think. We offer a contemporary high street range of dishes and are continuously looking to adapt our offer to emerging trends and customer tastes.
