Role Overview
Would you like to join a small, yet dedicated team committed to providing a tip top service to our customers? You will be overlooking some fluffy sheep, in a lovely rural setting on the outskirts of Bath?
 
You will be responsible for driving pupils to and from school, including Saturday mornings, including some school trips. You will also be on hand to help the Security and Fleet Manager with day to day duties. Please refer to the Information Pack for further details. Chef de Partie

Sous Chef

Monkton is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Sous Chef to join the Catering Department. They will be responsible for the timely delivery of outstanding food service experiences, monitoring quality and ensuring staff perform well. They will be responsible for helping Monkton to eat healthily easily, within budget while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and safety

The ideal candidate will possess a great blend of the following skills, knowledge and experience:

A strong ability to organise themselves and others, i.e. to work with and lead others during busy food production periods

The ability to cook and present a wide range of dishes from around the world from scratch.

Experience of food production in a high-volume environment. Term-times are busy while the school holidays are quieter with reduced staffing levels.

Have an eye-to-detail when it comes to managing quality

Art Technician

Monkton is seeking to appoint an energetic and dedicated Art Technician for the forthcoming academic year, starting in September, initially on a 12 month fixed term contract but with the possibility of an extension or move to a permanent contract. Art and Design Teacher

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, imaginative and ambitious colleague to join our Art and Design department. You will want to train to teach in a first class environment and have experience of being a practising designer. You are likely to have had some management experience and be keen to transfer those skills to work with the Head of Department in further developing our sector-leading programmes. We see education as far more than what goes on in a workshop, gallery or classroom, and you will be keen to share your broader skills and interests within the wider co-curricular setting to inspire our students to become confident, kind and ambitious adults who live fulfilling lives.
 
This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to build on the developments made over recent years in the Design department. The introduction of the 3D Design course at A level has enriched the creative discourse between the Design and Art departments, fulfilling some of the original high ambitions for the new faculty building. Applications from candidates interested in exploring the way that the Design curriculum can interact imaginatively with Art, Textiles and Photography are especially welcome.

ICT Network Manager (Full Time)

Monkton is seeking to appoint talented and committed individual with a ‘hands-on’ approach to their work and experience of working across platforms. They would lead a committed team of technicians, who enjoy a very varied role with tasks including everything from providing classroom support, to developing and administering the network and server infrastructure.  They will also need to be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and students with differing levels of IT skills.

This is an exciting role working closely with the recently appointed Educational Technologist and Vice Principal to impact the strategic direction of ICT Services across a large site, consisting of three schools. Monkton is committed to investing significantly in IT over the next few years and this role will be at the heart of the decision making and procurement processes.  We are looking to appoint an experienced candidate who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and is able to deliver a first class support service.

Front of House and Events Manager - Catering Department

Monkton is seeking to appoint a Front of House and Events Manager in the Catering Department to join their enthusiastic and friendly team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the management and development of an effective, customer focussed workforce to provide the hospitality services required across Monkton. They will need to monitor quality, ensure staff under your direction perform well and gather customer feedback. This exciting role will be responsible for leading and managing all non-food costs and work closely with the HSM on any marketing initiatives.

  • Experience of menu planning and / or food production in a large scale environment
