Pupils from Monkton Prep school secured front row seats to hear writer and comedian David Walliams speak at this year’s Bath Children’s Literature Festival.
The students all won the tickets to attend the show at the Bath Forum after entering the school’s summer Olympic Reading challenge.
Walliams gave several readings from his popular children’s books at the show in Bath on Saturday 1st of October and talked about his inspiration for his most popular characters.
The Monkton pupils also heard about Walliams’ plans for his next book and how some of the stories are being developed into a film. After the show the children met David as he signed books and posed for photographs.
The event which was the opening session of this year’s Bath Children’s Literature Festival was sponsored by Monkton.
Artistic Directors and founders of the Festival, John and Gill McLay “We’re delighted that Monkton have been able to support the Festival for the past 4 years and are playing such an important role in the 10th anniversary. This year’s Festival is our biggest yet with over 120 events and we were so pleased to be able to open it with the fantastic David Walliams”.
