Monkton Combe school took four children to the event, all of whom have been in training with the Monkton Elite swimming programme, which is run by ex-swimming Internationals Dan Hester and Chris Alderton.  The school’s cross country events and involvement in the Bath Schools Duathlon has also helped prepare the youngsters for the triathlon.

Monkton Combe School, just a mile from Bath, is an independent, co-educational boarding and day school for pupils aged 2-19.

Teacher Rachel Martindale who coaches the students said, “This was a great achievement by both boys. Monkton were up against other leading schools including Mount Kelly and Millfield who are very competitive, so to finish with the top two placings in the boys event is pretty special.”
