Nutfield House - Girls

Nutfield HouseWe hope that Nutfield is a place where we can help the girls find their passion as well as help them become enthusiastic, confident and successful individuals. We want to create a house where everyone is valued individually and where individuality is valued.

We have been at Monkton since 2003 and this is our second stint running Nutfield, having been houseparents there between 2005 and 2013. Spending time running a boarding house is one of the most rewarding jobs in teaching so we thought we would do it twice! Rachel also teaches English and is part of the school leadership team as Deputy Head Co-Curricular.

Both Andy and Rachel love all sports and Sky Sports is always the background noise in their house. Andy loves playing football and golf with a particular love for running. Rachel is a keen musician playing the cello and piano, who also likes chatting over a puzzle and walking her dog.

We have two children, Evie and Zack, as well as a fox-red labrador called Atticus. Evie has been right the way through Monkton and is now studying in London, with Zack studying sciences in his final years at Monkton. We all love taking holidays in our Pop-up Trailer tent nicknamed Opi and spending our time surfing, paddle boarding and playing games by the sea.
