Assistant to the Deputy & Assistant Heads (Part time) - Monkton Prep School

This exciting new position will support both the Deputy Head and the Assistant Head in every aspect relating to the clerical, administrative, and organisational aspects of their roles, and to receive guests, visitors and parents to their offices.

The Assistant to the Deputy and Assistant Head will work closely with the school Receptionists and other administration staff across the whole school and will responsible to the PA to the Headmaster on a day to day basis and will seek his/her guidance. Ultimately, the post holder is responsible to the Deputy Head, Prep School.

This position is for 22.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday and for 41 weeks per annum, inclusive of holiday entitlement, please refer to the full job description below for more information and for the terms of employment.

Assistant ICT Network Manager

This is an exciting new permanent position working closely with the Director of Digital Learning  and ICT Network Manager to impact the strategic direction of ICT Services across a large site, consisting of three schools. Monkton is in the middle of a significant cycle of investment in IT and this is part of expanding our support for this investment.  We are looking to appoint an experienced candidate who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and is able to deliver a first class support service, taking an increasing responsibility for the management of the network.
 
The role would suit a talented and committed individual with a ‘hands-on’ approach to their work and experience of working across platforms. They would help lead a committed team of technicians, who enjoy a very varied role with tasks ranging from providing classroom support, to developing and administering the network and server infrastructure.  They will also need to be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and students with differing levels of IT skills.

Recreational Assistant (Casual) - Monkton Leisure

Trainee Teacher (One year fixed term contract)

Monkton is seeking to appoint a Teacher Key stage 1 & 2 on a one year fixed term contract from September 2018, with training delivered via the University of Buckingham PGCE course or equivalent. The successful applicant will share our vision for fostering a love of lifelong learning, both for students and teachers. He or she will be passionate about delivering an excellent holistic education and have a commitment to individuals, seeing this as the basis for students to flourish. He or she will see education as lighting fires rather than filling pails, and appreciate the contribution that co-curricular activities make to the learning process.
 
A willingness to work collaboratively, and get fully and energetically involved in the co-curricular and pastoral life of the School is essential.
 
The successful applicant would be responsible for setting up the training with the PGCE provider, and the cost of the training would be paid for by the School and deducted from the successful applicant’s salary. The salary offered is in accordance with the Monkton Combe Teaching Staff Salary Scale and allowances.
 
The salary offered is in accordance with the Monkton Combe Prep School Teaching scale.  The post is eligible for the Teachers Pensions Scheme.

Key Stage 2 Teacher – Required for September 2018

Monkton Prep School is looking for a high energy and innovative Key Stage 2 teacher. The candidate would probably be in their first few years of teaching and be looking for an exciting role. Our Year 3 and 4 Monkton pupils are class taught and for the second year we are encompassing Year 5 into this same approach so that we can offer them the supportive framework of a class teacher in this significant year group for growing independence.
 
Monkton is looking for candidates who are prepared to be fully involved in a boarding Prep School - duties include weekends and evenings. A commitment to Saturday school provides staff with the opportunity to be involved with our pupils both in and out of the classroom.

Domestic Cleaner

Monkton School is seeking to appoint a part time Domestic Cleaner to join to our Domestic Services Department. Initially based at the Senior School in Monkton Combe Village, however at the direction of the Domestic Services Managers, the successful candidates may be required to work at our Prep and Pre-prep sites to fulfil the needs of the school. To assist the Theatre Studies and Drama Department with the direction and production of drama in the Senior School. For placement students to apply their academic knowledge from previous modules, putting production skills into practice. For placement students to potentially have the opportunity to explore new skills, dependent upon their needs.
 
We are a busy and growing department with two large school productions each year and other performance opportunities open to all pupils. We also produce excellent practical exam work with GCSE and A-level.
 
The position would suit a student who is keen to expand their hand-on practical knowledge with productions of various sizes. Candidates will have an interest in a variety of Theatre and Drama elements, and will be given opportunities to grow their skills in areas that they are interested in.
